Trying it on for size....

With the gear legs off, I couldn't resist....




Yup, it worked.

When I first tried to do the throttle bracket I was stumped by the upper center hole, which had a machine screw inside a square fitting. I felt that machining the square hole accurately was beyond my skills, so I tried the previous method.

But sometime during my trip I realized I did not have to do the center hole. If I left the housing attached to it's backplate I could leave it in place, and with longer screws the other 3 holes would be adequate to hold the assembly to the bracket.

You can see the center hole with the square fitting that stumped me.







Lots of careful grinding later...



This afternoon I dropped it off at the machinist to have a 1/2" bar of nylon ground out to fit between the bracket and the center cockpit tube. Should be back in about a week or so...



Initial preparations for hull assembly meant removing the gear legs. She looks odd without them.
