About me

Nurture vs Nature, the argument will never be settled. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by airplanes and flying, and to roughly quote Len Morgan, "All I ever wanted to do was fly, and now it's all I ever want to do." I first heard about the SeaRey when I was a starving flight instructor in the mid-1990s, and for some reason it grabbed my attention and the desire to build and fly one always stayed in the back of my mind as I progressed from flying hang gliders and instructing in a Cessna 150 to my current position of Boeing copilot 777 and r/c airplane builder.

After a couple medical scares in 2008 and 2009 I decided not to wait any longer. I placed my order in the Fall of 2009 and took delivery in April 2010. The people I've met and the fun of the build have been everything I hoped for and more. It's been a blast.

And if anyone tells my 86 year old Mom that I'm building an airplane I will drown a puppy.

I got lucky, I got everything I wanted
I got happy, there wasn't nothing else to do
And I'd be crazy not to wonder if I'm worthy
Of the part I play in this dream that's coming true.
